Sketcher's is an American company. The shoes themselves are manufactured outside the US in countries such as China and Mexico. This helps them keep the cost of their shoes down.

They have over 3000 styles of shoes currently on the market. And of course, many of those are sandals! They are sold and distributed in over a 100 countries and territories. So they definitely have a global reach; they are a mult-billion dollar company.

This is a very famous brand. They have a rich heritage and a real passion for their shoes.

Birkenstock USA was founded over 40 years ago; founded in 1966. The original family of shoemakers started making shoes over 230 years ago. The shoe's we have come to know and buy today were invented and manufactured in Germany by Konrad Birkenstock in 1897.

They Feature a wider look from other sandals.. unlike some shoes that compress your toes, these are built to follow the natural shape and contours of your foot.

They are designed with orthopedics in mind. This is why they are known to be much more comfortable and offer greater support for your foot.

They are also a very 'green' company for those of you that care about that type of thing. You can read all about their processes and materials here that are environmently friendly: Birkenstock's are Green!

Because they are made with top quality materials, they will last a long time. They are durable. So you may pay a little more, but it'll be well worth it because they'll last a lot longer.

That's always how I justify investing in a better shoe. I don't have to buy a new pair every few months!

For the record, this is my favorite Sandal. I've been wearing them for many years. I find them to be very durable, comfortable and overall I like the style.

One thing you may not know is the word Teva comes from the Hebrew word for 'nature'. Fitting as that's what these shoes are made for.. not to be worn just indoors or to social events, but they are designed for those of us that are active and like being out in nature! This type of sandal is referred to as a Sports Sandal.

Mark Thatcher was the inventor of Teva sandals and is now overseen by Deckers Outdoor Corporation.

Back in the early 1980s Mark was a rafting guide and noticed there weren't very good sandals available for river type activities. Nylon ankle straps and a thong-style sandal is what he invented and eventually patented.

Over the years they improved on the original design until they got what we have today.

Features

Again, these Sandals were made for those who are active and outdoorsy.

• They are very durable withstanding the riggers of many outdoor activities including those that involve water (rivers and lakes).
• They are very comfortable... and one of my favorite features is the ability to adjust all the straps (toe, heel and side straps) to perfectly fit your feet!
• They have a nice variety of styles and colors for Men and Women.
• There is an inner sole which is soft and where your feet rest nicely.  You'll find it has a well designed arche and include microbian zinc (a technology that prevents odor and helps kill bacteria).
• The outer sole is hard and rigid which enables a good grip on wet surfaces.

You can see a lot goes into the design of this shoe; that's why I believe it's the king of the Sports Sandals.

Crocs are super, super comfortable.  My wife's a big fan of Crocs.  She's a nurse and wears them at work. She a football fan and has a pear of Crocs with football Jibbitz on them..  Go Packers!

She LOVES them. 

Crocs isn't a very old company.. they have only been around since 2002.  But they've made a big splash and have won over a LOT of fans. And part of that is because they really made their brand fun.  Kids, and adults, love the Jibbitz for example.  If you don't know what they are, they are little charms that hook on to the shoe so you can personalize them.

Like I mentioned sports.. you might also have different characters, symbols..  well, I'll let you learn more at the the Jibbitz Store!

That really sets them apart though.  That and just the uniqueness of the brand overall.  It is a very uniquely made shoe - you won't look at it and not be sure if it's a Croc or not.  They have their own look and style.

And a unique comfort.  They are super comfortable.
